Wow~A BUSY Weekend

Friday afternoon, we took Isaac home and then headed to Pat and Bob's house. We enjoyed chatting and had yummy BLT's. Lila had had a long day and quickly got tired after dinner. She watched Noggin with Bob on the couch until it was time to head home.

Saturday David made us pancakes for breakfast and then made his first batch of chili ever in the crock pot we borrowed from Pat. As the chili simmered, we headed out for some errands and ended up at Toys R Us where we found some really great deals that could NOT be passed up! ;)

Then it was off to our friends, Michael, Carole, and Naomi's house for their annual chili cookoff (it was our first year attending but the 4th year they have hosted it). David was one of 9 contestants that brought chili. I personally thought his was the best, but he didn't win :( - but we had a great time! The children were downstairs being supervised by babysitters so the adults could drink and have fun without having to worry about the kiddos. THAT was a great idea! Lila had so much fun without us, haha! Her and Naomi are so sweet together. Michael made the most delicious margaritas- they were pretty strong! Strong enough to get David out of his shell ;)

Sunday, we headed over to Carrboro to have lunch at "Southern Rail". We've eaten there before, but Lila was younger and didn't care that it was an actual train. We enjoyed our delicious meals that came with yummy tater tots.
Inside the car we sat in for lunch:

They have a really amazing collection of items outside of the train, and Lila and David enjoyed riding on this:

They have seats from an old John Deere tractor (but it was hot, so Lila sat on my lap)

While we were there, Michael and Carole called us and invited us over for dinner. It seems Naomi couldn't stop talking about Lila and wanted to see her again- how cute is THAT?!?!

We walked around Carrboro some more and then came home, took it easy for a while, then headed over to Michael and Carole's house.

The girls played out back while Carole and I talked and the men cooked. My kind of afternoon! More frozen concoctions, and I was a happy girl!
The water was pretty chilly, so Lila didn't want to get in, but she still had tons of fun with her buddy!

David made them snow-cones!

More playing!

Best buds!

After all that, we had the most delicious dinner- shrimp kabobs, corn on the grill, and salad! Wow is all I can say. The kabobs had a marinade that was amazing.

Clean up time for us, and the girls played and chased each other all over the house. Then it was time to go :(
You have never seen two sadder faces! The girls acted like they were never gonna see each other again! DRAMATIC! I promised that they would see each other soon, but that didn't help much.

A fabulous weekend- not very productive, but very fun!

Eh, it doesn't take that much to get David out of his shell!
