Ok, sorry for the lack of posting recently, a lot of stuff has been going on. We were all supposed to pile in the car and go (with the dog) to Atlanta, GA to visit my mom and sisters. The night before we left, David's good friend (and I like to think, my friend, too) killed himself. He was a wonderful person who apparently was dealing with a lot more than anyone knew.

David chose to stay home and take care of himself, his friends, and some of the arrangements. He really "stepped up to the plate" and did what needed to be done. Lila and I missed him terribly, but we are so proud of the way he handled himself and the very difficult situation.
So Lila and I headed out early Thursday morning and made the 6 1/2 hour drive to Atlanta. Lila was so good and slept about 1/2 of the way. We were both excited to see everyone!
Once there, we decided to go to the American Girl Doll restaurant for lunch. It was so wonderful (and very girly). There were high chairs for the babies/dolls and delicious food for us! It was a lot of fun and very special.

Went back to the house, played, took a nap, had dinner, went to the pool, and then had popcorn while we watched the Braves' game! At first, Lila cheered them on by saying "Go Canes!" but she quickly caught on that this was not hockey and soon started saying "Go Braves!"
Lila was obsessed with Hannah (who is 7 years old).

The next day was Friday and we all decided to go to the Georgia Aquarium. Luckily we bought our tickets online before we left the house because they were CROWDED!!!
We had an amazing time and saw so many interesting and beautiful animals.

We came home, ate some delicious steaks for dinner, and relaxed.
The next day, the Fourth of July, my mom and stepdad ran in the Peachtree 10K. It turned out to be a whole morning event, but I am very proud of them for doing it!

Then, to celebrate, we went to Chili's for lunch and pigged out! We even told them we were celebrating my birthday and got a free dessert (technically that is true, because I won't see them again until after my birthday). By the way, my diet was "on hold" while I was on vacation.
Went back to their house, bounced, did a little shopping, lit some fireworks at their house, then we went to see some fireworks. Lila takes after me and loves fireworks!!! I'm pleasantly surprised that she wasn't scared.

Sunday, we fed the ducks and geese at a local pond-until it started pouring down rain!

Then we did some more shopping, playing, and then went to the city for dinner at the Cheyenne Grill. The food was amazing- a perfect way to end a fun (albeit short) vacation.

Lila and her aunts had so much fun playing together. Here, Lila is riding Hannah like she's a horsey :)

Lila was so good in the car, but really wanted me to play with her. She put stickers on her face to amuse herself (and it amused me too!)

After a meltdown, Miss Priss finally fell asleep and rested while I drove (and drove and drove...)

We made it home safely and were very happy to see David and Montana.
