Independence Day 2008

Well, we've started a tradition, I suppose. Last year, Lila and I went to the Festival on the Eno river with Mark and Hanna, and today we went to the Festival with Bob and ZIa. David was off today, so we got to spend some family time together!!! We took our new jogging stroller that did very well on the rough terrain. Lila wore her American flag outfit from Cammie, Wayne, and Matthew.
It was very hot, but we had fun. Here are Trish and Lila in the misting booth, cooling off.

Bob and "Zia"

We saw Trish's first flea circus! We even got to meet the performer afterwards!

Lila got so hot that her cheeks were red, but was pretty well behaved.

In the kiddie area, they had some chickens in a cute little house. She LOVED them!

After the kiddie area, Lila took a snooze in the stroller while we found food.

Lila woke up for a lunch of blueberries and fried cheese and then enjoyed a parade of puppets.

David had fun and even SMILED! ;)
